It's relief enough to finally be settled in my own place here, but I have been blessed with a beautiful, bright, big kitchen!

I was browsing in an antique store yesterday and came across this old typewriter. It's always fun to see what people type, trying out the machine. Typed on this old beauty was one line, in red ink:
Beverly is the love of my life.

My Horoscope This Week.

The entertainment industry foists a lot of garbage on us. Stupid sex, gratuitous fear, and ugly violence are the norm. TV and film executives defend themselves against critics who accuse them of pandering to the lowest common denominator. "We merely give people what they want," they say. To put that lame excuse in context, I'll quote Henry Ford, the automotive pioneer: "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." I hope that perspective inspires you to aim higher in the coming week, Sagittarius. Don't give anyone (including yourself) what they're accustomed to desiring; give them something better and more beautiful.

I love Astoria, Oregon,

Astoria, Oregon

the oregon coast in general, and this last Sunday, September 4th especially. Planned brunch, but the trip to the coast afterwards was spontaneous.
I also love:
Astoria's Sunday Market,
the giant peppers for sale,
the homemade dipped cones we ate,
the breeze,
the giant flea market on route 30,
Viewing the coast from atop the Astoria Column on Coxcomb Hill
and watching people float their balsam wood planes from the top.
